Exceptional floating desk with gracefully arched legs by Pierre Jeanneret for the Chandigarh Administrative Buildings, India, in teak with a leather top and aluminum-inset crescent drawer pull. The desk’s flip side harmoniously integrates a pigeonhole bookcase, a perfect example of Jeanneret’s seamless fusion of utility and aesthetics.
Very good restored condition, with faint stenciled markings on the front. Various imperfections retained to preserve character of piece. The leather has recently been replaced.
