$20,000

Ettore Sottsass (1917-2007)

A rare, early mirror by Memphis Milano founder Ettore Sottsass, crafted in a small limited series by Sant’Ambrogio e De Berti circa 1958. A floating brass frame ornamented with rectangular fingers hugs the top and bottom of a long, rectangular mirror in two-tone clear and smoked blue-gray glass. The mirror is cinched by a row of protruding spikes two thirds of the way down its length, on which a small shelf can be placed to create a console.

Published in Quaderni Vitrum n ° 8, Specchiere e Specchi, circa 1965. Pg. 124.

In very good original condition, with no chips or scratches. The brass frame shows its beautiful original patina, but can be polished.
