Stilnovo: Massive Pair of Three Bowl Sconces in Brass and Enamel, Italy, 1950s

Stilnovo

A monumental pair of spear-like, seven and a quarter foot tall sconces by Stilnovo. Three shallow bowls, in black enamel with white interior, float on the upper third of a polished brass shaft with a long and pointed finial. The sconces are anchored by two modeled arms, the lower encircling the shaft like an abstracted hand. A strong modernist and geometric statement, of substantial scale.

With Stilnovo maker’s mark inside the bowl.
